About

The thinking behind MSX Dragonfly.

The South Texas coast is growing faster than the places to live in it. Thousands of technical professionals — engineers, technicians, specialists — are arriving in the Brownsville corridor for work. The available housing hasn't kept pace, and the commutes that result are genuinely punishing after a twelve-hour shift.

MSX Dragonfly starts from a simple belief: people doing demanding work deserve somewhere considered to come home to. Not a hotel. Not a complex. A community of homes — properly designed, properly equipped, close to where the work is.

The residences sit at 8700 Houston Road, 12.91 acres of unincorporated Cameron County a short distance from Starbase, the Port of Brownsville, and the beaches of the Gulf Coast. The site already has water, power, and sewer infrastructure. It is, in the literal sense, ready.

Construction uses elevated prefabricated homes — a method chosen not for cost, but for the right reasons: speed of delivery, resilience against the Gulf Coast climate, flood elevation, and a level of precision that site-built construction in this corridor would struggle to match. The result is homes that are quieter, better insulated, and more durable than most of what the local market offers.

We are building homes for the people who are already here, and for the many more who are coming.

Location is proximity. Proximity is time. Time, after a twelve-hour shift, is everything.
